Ingredients

Pizza Ingredients

  • 4 whole grain pita bread rounds
  • Olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 2 cups Butler’s Soy Curls, chopped and seasoned as detailed below
  • ½ cup plant based non-dairy mozzarella shreds
  • 2 rings red pepper
  • 1 jar pizza sauce
  • Chopped onion (optional)
  • Black olives (optional)
  • Fresh basil, chopped (optional)

Soy Curl Ingredients

  • 2 cups Butler’s Soy Curls
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided

Directions

Soy Curl Directions

  1. Hydrate the soy curls in warm water for 10 minutes. Drain and squeeze out moisture, then set aside.
  2. Combine the spices in a food processor and pulse until mixed together.
  3. Coat the soy curls with 2 teaspoons of olive oil; add spice mixture and toss to coat.
  4. Spread the soy curls onto a baking sheet and drizzle with one tablespoon of olive oil.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for eight minutes. Drizzle with one tablespoon of olive oil.
  6. Cool and store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Pizza Directions

  1. Brush the tops of the pita rounds with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic.
  2. Top each pita with ¼ cup pizza sauce, ½ cup seasoned soy curls, ½ cup mozzarella shreds and other toppings, as desired.
  3. Bake in an air fryer at 400 degrees for eight to 10 minutes.
