Faith and Love of Cattle Drive Roth Farm and Ranch
Cami Roth grew up on her family's farm in Sterling, where they run a cow-calf operation and grow wheat, corn, sorghum, soybeans and alfalfa. From a young age, Cami had a passion for livestock and farming. She shared what she loves about farming and how it connects her to her faith.
Why are you passionate about ranching?
I feel so blessed to make my living as a steward of God’s creation. He has entrusted us as the caretakers of His land and animals, and I love the challenge of getting better at my job every day. There is always more to learn and room for improvement. I am continually focused on making better cattle, taking better care of our land and improving our business. It is never a boring job.
What's your favorite part of raising livestock?
I love cows! From the newborn babies that first hit the ground to the smart old cows that have been around for over a decade, I get to spend every day caring for them. My job is to provide the best I can for them, and in return they provide food for a hungry world. My days are spent out on the wide-open prairie in God’s beautiful creation with the animals I love.
What brought you into your job?
I grew up on the family farm. As a kid, I would often be found out in the pens making friends with the heifers. Cattle have always been my passion and as I got older I knew I wanted to make that my career. I attended Kansas State University where I majored in Animal Sciences and Industry. I returned to the farm when I graduated and transitioned into a management role in our cattle operation while continuing to learn the business from my parents.
