When Scott Thellman was a kid, he was fascinated by cattle. He didn’t come from a farming family, but watching cattle graze—well, he was hooked.
He started working on a farm as a teenager and soon after that he started his own hay-baling business, which expanded before he branched out into growing vegetables on a 1/4-acre plot.
Today Scott runs Juniper Hill Farms, a 50-acre operation just north of Lawrence. He’s focused on growing quality, affordable food using sustainable practices.
